Welcome to CCSS
Cedar Chapel, located in Snow Hill, Maryland, is a special education school serving students from the ages of three to twenty-one with significant disabilities in Worcester County. Our staff members are committed to meeting the needs of all students in a positive, welcoming environment. Our students are challenged to meet high expectations in order that they develop skills needed for independence. Working in partnership with parents, we believe that all of our students can achieve success. The educational programs are designed for students who require a comprehensive special education setting for the entire school day. Instructional areas include English language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science as outlined in the Maryland College and Career Ready State Curriculum, vocational skills, life skills, and communication skills benchmarks based upon the needs of each child. Our student body participates in community events such as art shows, Special Olympics, and music performances, to name a few.
We are very proud of our accomplishments! Students continue to perform at or above state averages on the state Alternate Assessments. We also continue to be named a Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) Gold School. Please be sure to check your child's book bag every day to see what amazing accomplishments your child is making every day.
